The term paper is expected to be 5-7 pages double spaced using times new roman, 12 point font. The paper must have a cover page, be double-spaced, use APA citations and should include your own commentary on what you have learned. In this sense it is not a traditional research paper as you will be weaving in your own thoughts, experiences and understanding of the topic chosen. You can include drawings, poetry and other forms of knowledge but this should be in addition to the minimum of 5 written pages. You are encouraged to incorporate Indigenous voices in your research, and this may include Youtube recordings, personal connections or traditional stories. Please refer to the how to cite Indigenous knowledge section of Moodle.

Options 2 Class Presentation Students who choose this option will do the same research as those who choose option 1 but will present their research to the class in a 30 minute presentation. On the day of the presentation the student(s) will submit a 2 page synthesis of their presentation and a works cited page. Students may work in teams of two but must show at least ten research sources in their Works Cited (as opposed to six for single presenters). During the presentation both students must be actively involved in presenting research to the class. Students wishing to work in groups of more than two must consult with the professor. Option 3: Field Project Students choosing this option must have their topic approved by the professor and then research that topic and present to the class. The field project involves a student going outside of the university in order to do on site research on a topic related to the New Testament. The same criteria as the “Class Presentation” apply with the exception of number of research sources. Students who chose the field project are required to have at least three library research sources (using the Hannon Library’s “Libguides”) and at least two on site interviews. The deadline for topic approval is listed in the syllabus.
