Let’s continue our social class analysis by seeing how social class comes up in art and more specifically song lyrics. Please watch Parton (1971) below and follow along with the song lyrics here

As you watch and read, please take note of what you see, read, and feel. Reflect and journal as you read to the following questions:

· What do people in the resource value? What is their “enough”?

· Where did you see people’s money and class?

· What was the connection between people’s money and their ability to live their values?

· What does this text help you understand about your own social class story?

· Where do you see in/justice? Individual? Relational? Societal?

And as you read, reflect, and journal, apply a windows and mirrors lens to the resource to see what this text brings up about your own experience of social class.
