Mini Case Study Assignment #1 Patient History Ryan is a 23-year old, athletic male. Over the past week, he noted increasing fatigue, sore throat, earaches, headaches, and episodic fever and chills. These symptoms have prevented Ryan from being able to run his customary 25 miles per week. He decides to see his doctor, Dr. Kalamazoo, at the end of the week.

Physical Examination Upon examining Ryan, Dr. Kalamazoo notices that his throat and tonsils are erythematous, and his cervical lymph nodes are swollen. Dr. Kalamazoo immediately orders a complete blood count (CBC) and differential. Remember that the differential is an addition to the CBC that quantifies each TYPE of white blood cell and expresses it as a percentage.
